PRACTICE OPPORTUNITY - FOLLOW-UP ON HARVEY RATNER SEMINAR
Sharing ideas and practising skills – "What works with children, young people and families? Advances in Solution-Focused Brief Practice (SFBP).
A group of SFBA practioners got together at a practice opportunity on a cold and miserable Wednesday afternoon in Sydney. We discussed and experimented with how the ideas from Harvey Ratner’s seminar might be applied in our work. We used a small group activity to sweep in multiple perspectives, followed by SF interviewing to develop rich detailed pictures of what we had noticed and valued. Then some people used enactment to experiement with possibilities for their own future practice - others stayed with brainstorming and discussion to design options.
Thank you to Harvey Ratner, his colleagues at BRIEF, and their clients for sharing their work with us and prompting us to try some new possibilities of our own.
